Romblon: A Little Piece of Paradise

13 - 18 May 2016

Hi Ram,

I am so thrilled to tell you about my adventure in Romblon! Grabe! That place is a paradise!

A little background. Me and my former officemates planned to visit our friend, May, who lives in Sibuyan, Romblon. To cut the story short, ang ending, only me and Elmert were able to go. We took a bus from Manila to Batangas Port and got there at around 5pm. But since the trip schedule that we got was around 10 or 11 pm pa, we decided to have a mini tour in Lipa. We ate dinner at SM and visited a church.

We went back at the port to wait for boarding.

This was actually the first time I am going to ride a ship — a REAL ship!

It wasn't very dizzying like I thought it would be. In fact I didn't feel it at all. We even party at the bar upstairs with a live band before we slept.

The sunrise on the ship.

We alight at the Port of Romblon where we would take another ride (this time on a smaller ferry boat) to Sibuyan Island.

We arrived at Sibuyan Island just before lunch time. Our friend, May, picked us up at the port. We rode on a tricycle to their house where she introduced us to her Mom, Tita Divina (which was a very generous host). Me and Elmert left our bags there and May took us to their gold mine. Yes, yayamanin! May gold mine si mayora! Hahaha. She gave us a tour to show us how gold was mined.

Enjoying me some Buko Juice.

And then we spent the rest of day with May introducing us to her friends. Coincidentally, it was also Fiesta at their place that time so we enjoyed the perya and food.

The next day, we woke up early around 4 in the morning and we got into a boat and May kept on saying she’s gonna bring us to this beautiful island that I have never heard of. It was, I THINK 3-5 hours boat ride. I was sleeping all the time that we were in the boat. The sun was up when we reached our destination. May said the island is beautiful. IT WASN’T.

IT WAS AMAZINGLY SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL!!!

They call it Cresta de Gallo! And man, it was a little piece of paradise on earth with it’s white sand bar and crystal clear waters.

Happy Feet!

This is May. :)
Ahhhh... a feelingero shot! Haha!

When we got tired from swimming, we ate our packed lunch at a makeshift cottage together with our friends.

We went back before it got dark and we even witnessed the sunset on the way.

We slept that night tired but happy.

The next day, May and her family took us to Lambingan Falls and Forest Park.

I was really happy and grateful to my friend and her family for inviting us to their beautiful hometown. The ferry boat that would take us back to Romblon port did not arrive the next day so we had to stay for a day more (which was good hehe). But we had to go home na din the next day. And since our trip schedule is at 7pm, we took the time to stroll around Romblon, Romblon.

And then Manila had to happen and work is reality. Haha! But this is hands down one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to.

Till next time, Ram.

xoxo,

RAM
